The library, a place to be

I don’t read many books, although I should; this sight calms me. Why is that? What exactly is taking place? Can someone explain this? Is it a common phenomenon or a personal psyche? — Etim Eyo (24/03/2022).

My contribution:

You might actually love books due to your interest in research & knowledge. It’s more of a personal psyche but a common phenomenon to some other people. One book in a room might be easily overlooked and tossed aside, but one room filled with books, especially when arranged correctly on wooden/iron shelves, has this therapeutic feeling. I noticed this personally during my primary/secondary school years. However, I loved reading books to expand my mind/attain knowledge and also researching. I realized that a room filled with books, or a library was one of the best places to be in the world.

I loved the art studio/sports centers/computer lab/classroom/under the tree/park, and others. Still, the library was/had always been this sanctuary to me. It was a space where I always felt welcomed and at peace. With fewer people talking, less noise; fewer people present; and a mind-getaway spot filled with knowledge. The library is easily the bank of the mind and understanding. Regardless of where it is, the aura and atmosphere there will always be a place of memory, foresight, light, freedom, peace, knowledge, research, and others. — Seun Adeyemi (24/03/2022, 5:55am).
