The Proverb Scrolls (Episode 1)
Proverbs are said to be the words of the wise or the educated. Proverbs have proved to bear fruits of subtle wisdom to anyone who opens his/her mind to listen and understand what lies behind the curtains of the stated verbal expression. The proverbs stated below are written and translated in Yoruba, Igbo and English languages.
“Odo ti O’ba gba gbe orisun e, gbigbe ni a’gbe”
Translation: The river that forgets its source, will dry up.
“The older one gets, the slimmer the opportunities”

Translation: The opportunities are not necessarily just money making opportunities. It’s either a time-based opportunity or decision-based/risk-taking opportunity which one forgoes as time flies.
“Asegbe kankan ko si, Ase pawo lowa”
Translation: Nothing is hidden under the sun, we reap what we sow
“Kindness must be shared” — Maami, Movie (2011)
Translation: Kindness must be shared to everyone, on the streets, market places and actually everywhere people exist.
“Kindness is like the baton in a relay race when you receive it, you pass it on” — Maami, Movie (2011)
Translation: As you receive, so shall you give. Embracing the principle of giving and receiving instead of just receiving without giving.
“A knowledgeable person without veneration end up knowing nothing” — Ogun Abele, Movie
“If you do good or bad, the world will ask for you”

“Oruko meji ni eniyan maa n ni, oto l’oruko oju, oto si ni oruko ehin. Nitori oruko ehin ni kaluku fi n so iwa re hu”
Translation: Each person has two names; there is because of the future name. It is because of the future name that everyone behaves with caution.
“Onye nwere mmadu ka onye nwere ego”
Translation: A person with a robust network of people is stronger than an individual with money.
This proverb encourages us to focus on building and fostering the right relationship.
